  • Riot Forge Game Launches

    Riot Forge Game Launches

    New adventures.

Riot Forge is a publishing label that partners with independent studios to develop games in the League of Legends universe.

In 2021, I helped with surprise-dropping two Riot Forge titles (Hextech Mayhem and Ruined King) and announcing a third (Song of Nunu).

    With Bethany Higa, I wrote:

    • The creative platform for the Riot Forge Showcase video. (Video script by Erika Haas and Nikki Brown.)
    • Website copy for Song of Nunu.
    • Trailer copy for Hextech Mayhem.
    • Trailer copy for Ruined King.

    Launch date: November 16, 2021

  • Wild Rift Cinematics

    Wild Rift Cinematics

    Cool animated stuff.

During my time on the Wild Rift team, I worked on a few animated trailers for new characters. These were among the first scripts I ever wrote at Riot, so they’re pretty special to me.

Wings of Justice (Kayle and Morgana)

Role: I wrote the script, with a lot of help from creative director Bill Barteldes and a few other writers.

    Release date: December 2, 2021

    Eye of the Beast (Warwick)

Role: This script was a team effort between me, Dylan Bates, Bethany Rock, and Tori Fica. I wrote the voiceover and contributed eye-related thoughts.

    Release date: November 22, 2022

  • Wild Rift Summer Campaigns

    Wild Rift Summer Campaigns

    Magic and might.

Summer events are the biggest creative campaigns of the year for Wild Rift, immersing players in a unique universe for the season.

I served as lead writer on the Star Guardian campaign (2022) and the Soul Fighter campaign (2023).

Star Guardian follows a team of magical girls, doing homework by day and fighting space monsters by night. I contributed:

    • The campaign creative platform (in partnership with creative director REL Hunt), guiding tactics through every phase of production.
    • The on-screen script for the Star Guardian event trailer.
    • Story review + social copy for everything.

The Soul Fighter universe imagines champions as elite fighters in the Tournament of Souls, where the victor wins their heart’s desire. I contributed:

    • The custom voiceover script for the Soul Fighter event trailer.
    • Jokes, puzzles, and nutritional information on a physical cereal box.
    • Fun facts and descriptions for champion trading cards.
    • Story review + social copy for everything.

Launch dates: July 2022 (Star Guardian) / July 2023 (Soul Fighter)

  • 2XKO Alpha Lab

    2XKO Alpha Lab

    Finally, 2XKO at home.

2XKO launched its first at-home playtest in July 2024. This was a highly anticipated moment for players who had been following the game since its announcement in 2019.

As lead writer on the campaign, I contributed:

    • Web, social, and email copy, driving lots of playtest sign-ups.
    • An overview + FAQ article.
    • The campaign creative platform (in partnership with creative director Marcelo Duende and writer Audrey Miano), guiding tactics through every phase of production.

  • League of Legends Champions

    League of Legends Champions

    Your newest legends.

Adding a new champion to League of Legends is a huge moment. The work varies from campaign to campaign, but usually includes video scripts, social copy, and reviewing a lot of stuff with a lot of people.

As lead writer on three champion launch campaigns, I wrote…

    • The Milio Champion Trailer script.
    • The scripts for the Milio, Nilah, and K’Sante Champion Spotlights.
    • The social copy pictured below.
    • The creative platforms for the Milio and K’Sante campaigns, in partnership with League creative directors Chesney Lattuga and Elie Fielding.

    2XKO Evo Las Vegas 2024

    Support has arrived.

Evo Las Vegas is the largest fighting game tournament in the world. At Evo 2024, 2XKO announced its newest playable character: Braum, a shield-bearing protector with a heart even stronger than his muscles.

As lead writer on the Evo 2024 campaign, I contributed:

    • The Braum Gameplay Trailer script, guiding 2XKO’s first-ever bespoke animation.
    • The Braum Champion Introduction script, explaining Braum’s kit and play patterns at a high level.
    • Social, website, and news article copy.
    • Copy for physical brochures at our Evo booth.

  • HEARTSTEEL

    HEARTSTEEL

    Meet the band.

HEARTSTEEL is a six-member boy band, featuring League of Legends champions as international pop stars. My team crafted their month-long journey to a live performance at the 2023 League of Legends World Championship. The band’s “PARANOIA” music video debuted to 5.9M views and 3.3M streams in its first 24 hours.

Defining these characters was incredibly challenging at times, and I’m very proud of how we brought them to life. It was so special to see the love that players poured into HEARTSTEEL; the fanart, hundreds of thousands of Twitter replies, and the person who listened to PARANOIA 7,000 times in one month made this campaign an unforgettable experience.

As lead writer on the HEARTSTEEL campaign, I helped define the band’s identity, established their voice and tone, and wrote every piece of copy, including:

    • Voice pillars for HEARTSTEEL’s social media activity, outlining their online personas as individuals and as a group.
    • Written interviews with HEARTSTEEL members for GQ Korea and NYLON China.
    • Social copy for all the HEARTSTEEL teasers and in-game content announcements.
    • Review for hundreds of tweets (managed by the incredible Riot Games social team + our vendors at AndCompany) as part of the band’s @RiotGamesMusic takeover, replying to players in-character over two weeks.
    • Fun facts for a gameplay trailer.
    • All the small stuff: a physical letter from the band, a Spotify bio and playlist descriptions, and in-game icon descriptions.

    Launch date: October 12, 2023
